Creativity is problem solving. I use practices that position design as the innovation engine for user experience. Design is the "go to" team anytime a new project gets kicked off.
I believe in simple and elegant designs and look for new ideas everywhere. My work draws inspiration from a variety of resources to find ways to delight and positively surprise.
I communicate deliberately and transparently. I take feedback without personal offense and work with my team to do the same.
I share knowledge and expertise freely.
Users first, technology second. I resolve difficult trade-offs by working from the customer scenario backward and by relentlessly testing and improving the experience.
I keep things moving, I get things done. I motivate others and pull skeptics along. I lean in, engage for action and deliver results fast and with consistently high quality.
I set high standards for personal integrity and gain the trust of others. Succeeding as a team is more important than individual excellence. I build highly functioning teams.

This video is a representative example for user experiences I have designed. The entire UX and UI of Azure Machine Learning was developed under my creative direction with my talented team.
From a branding perspective, it is aligned with the Azure product family. From a user interaction model perspective, it targets data scientists and data developers who want to create machine learning models and operationalize those as web services so they can be consumed in applications.
The visual modelling surface allows users to copy/paste R or Python scripts into their model. Gartner placed Microsoft into the Visionary Quadrant for big data analytics based on Azure Machine Learning.
This video was recently posted to illustrate a new offering under the Cortana Analytics family. I drove the creative direction for the video, designed many of the assets shown in it, and half way through when product screencasts are displayed, those were all designed by my team, with exception of the Power BI segment, which was designed by a partner team.
From a branding perspective, Cortana Analytics is aligned with the Azure product family. From a user interaction model perspective, it targets solution architects and data developers who want to develop, deploy and maintain complex data-driven applications.
This video is another example of an immersive experience for data enthusiasts. I lead the design of Power Query for Excel 2013.
From a branding perspective, it is aligned with the Microsoft Office product family. From a user interaction model perspective, it targets data analysts and information workers who want to connect to data sources, load data, create transformations, and share the result with others.
This work was integrated with the Power BI product family and Microsoft Excel.
